Trips to the West Bank

Yachad provides the opportunity for its supporters to take part in educational day tours to East Jerusalem and the West Bank. These will be delivered by Israeli partners on the ground.

The purpose of these trips is to provide British Jews who spend time in Israel with a greater understanding of the conflict, the impact of an ongoing occupation on both Israelis and Palestinians, and to hear narratives they may not have been previously exposed to.

The small print: In order for Yachad trips to run we need a minimum of 8 participants and therefore we ask that you commmit as early as possible so we can confirm the trip will take place.  The cost of the trip is £45 per participant and payment must be received two weeks before the date of the trip. Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds. If you are a student or travelling with a large family group we may be able to offer a discount. Please email us for further information.

What the participants think

Professor Steven Miller, Norrice Lea Synagogue:

'Don't join this trip if you dream of peace between Arab and Jew at this site of our common ancestry - you will be bitterly disappointed. But neither will you see signs of fierce hostility between an oppressed Palestinian community and an aggressive, trigger-happy occupying army. The truth is less dramatic than that, but in some senses more insidious and more troubling. We knew most of the facts before we set off, but we needed to experience it for ourselves - for those who love Israel this is an uncomfortable, challenging but essential experience.'
